Arrival and welcome reception at Cusco airport (Velasco Astete). Transfer to the hotel. Briefing provided for the professional tour guide to enjoy safely the city.
Pick up from the hotel at 12h30, this day you will visit the tourist attractions around the city with the combination of landscape contrasts.
The tour begins in the Cathedral, located in the Plaza de Armas, Renaissance building of the XVI century, the Cathedral houses the legendary image of the Lord of the Tremors (Jury Master of Cusco). Then you will continue to Koricancha temple, guided tour in Sacsayhuamán, better known as fortress for it’s impressive granite constructions, great example of Inca military architecture. Time to visit Qenqo, Inca temple built on limestone rock, ritual center for ceremonies in honor of the sun god, moon and stars.
Tambomachay. Explanation of the guide on this monument very remarkable for its architectural excellence. There are four walls or stepped terraces attached to the hill, built on the basis of irregular polyhedral of carved stone, masterfully assembled, forming three parallel platforms. Return to the city, free time.
At 07:30 am pick up from the hotel to start the adventure through the famous Sacred Valley of the Incas. First stop is in Awana Kancha, this site disseminates, promotes, recovers, revalues and enforces the ancestral techniques of weaving, dyeing, handling and production of South American camelid fibers, working together with families of weavers from high Andean communities.
And to continue enjoying the natural beauty that surrounds the Sacred Valley a small stop in the viewpoint of Taray, this viewpoint is characterized by having one of the best locations for the observation of the sacred valley, where it can be seen with greater clarity, the scenic beauty which the river Vilcanota shows.
Pisaq, 33 km. From Cusco, a picturesque town of cobbled streets full of adobe houses and local people dressed in traditional costumes, on whose heights lie the Inca vestiges of the archaeological complex of Pisaq. Continuing the tour, you will pass several small towns on the way to Urubamba, you will have free time to taste the region's dishes based on quinoa, potatoes, and fresh vegetables, as well as delicious desserts at a tourist restaurant, buffet service.
Finally, visit Ollantaytambo, it is 21 km. From the Inca city, Ollantaytambo or Ollanta is now an Inca fortress of megalithic stones. After that you will take the train until Aguas Calientes Town, reception and transfer to your hotel.
In Machu Picchu town, you will board the bus that will take you to the entrance gate of Machu Picchu, Machu Picchu is considered at the same time a masterpiece of architecture and engineering. Its peculiar architectural and landscape features, and the veil of mystery that has woven around it much of the literature published on the site, have made it one of the most popular tourist destinations on the planet.
To return to the village of Aguas Calientes, take the downhill bus, taking the time for lunch, and 30 minutes in advance to the train station to return to Ollanta. Private transfer from the station to the hotel in Cusco.
